Process

How It Works

Our team will bring the training and qualifications needed to digitally capture the health of your USTs.

Tank Prep

Just like traditional inspections, the tank must be emptied, cleaned, and vented to below 10% LEL. This can be done ahead of time or while our team is on site—allowing you to keep operations running while we collect data across multiple tanks. Since no one enters the tank, confined space requirements aren’t necessary.

Data Capture

Our team only needs access to a 4” port. They will lower the 3D scanner into the tank and scan the entire surface. The digital image will be viewed while they are still on site to confirm the success of the data capture.

Data Processing

A 3D model is generated utilizing point-cloud data captured from the site; this allows the tank to be examined in sections along the entire length of the tank.

Each section can then be assessed for variations from roundness; which is a key indicator of stress and fatigue.

TankIQ Results

TankIQ provides diagrams of each section along the entire length of the tank. It notes all deflections and roundness issues that could impact the longevity of your assets.
